Finding

Children of the corn, how art thou? I hope that
thou art good. Cuz I art good :) This week we found, and we found, and found some more, and we did not have much success. However, I don’t want anyone to think that I am frustrated because really am not. I know that as long as I work as hard as I can, and do my best, then God will bless us.
We did see many miracles this week even though it was hard. On Sunday this week Elder HK and I were praying about what street we should track normally. When we do this we choose three streets and hope that the spirit has guided us. We pray together and then and say a personal prayer. I was looking at the whole map and to find three streets we could knock. My eye caught a road I looked at the name and thought this is the street we should knock tomorrow (very different from what I normally do). Then I ask Elder HK what where he thought we should knock and his answer was "Well I am only feeling good about one of the roads on this map." It happened to be the same road I was thinking of!!! These maps are flipping HUGE!!! The next day we went to that road and it was a total dumpy area! Like it is what they call here a "chivy neighborhood" We knocked about twenty homes... none of them believed in God... all of them slammed the door in our face... fairly typical for our week. But then we knock the very last door and a man answered who actually talked to us! He asked us to come around later on the next day, so we did and he was the miracle! He and his daughter. His wife died a few years ago, so we taught him the plan of salvation and he loved it. It was such a good teach. He just had eye surgery a few days ago and is down for the week. I was going to challenge him to baptism, but I thought we needed to let him recover from the surgery a few more days. They were the people that God was leading us to on that street. That is what this work is all about.
This week I had one of the scariest experiences of my life. We went on exchange with some missionaries in the north of our Zone. We were finding people to teach (and boy was I on my game that day), we set up four appointments and it was good. I was training the elder I was with on how to find people and we were really doing well and having fun. We ended up at a ladies house who was less active; her name was Helen. She was about mid twenties; we sat down and this lady was talking about how she can’t come to church and all of this rubbish. After talking to her for about a half an hour the spirit hit me and it said "She is practicing wege and satanic rituals." That right there totally floored me. I was petrified! I mean how do you go about asking her that? It was such an awkward question to ask. But I knew that I had been told what she had been doing so I ask her, "Helen, I am going to ask you a few personal questions and I want you to answer them honestly. When was the last time you used anything with wege?" Her expression, and also the Elder with whom I was working, was shock. You could tell that this was the last thing they thought I was as going to ask. But she said, "Last night." Then I asked, "And how long have you been involved in satanic rituals?" She answered she had been involved with them for years. Then I asked, "When was the last time you turned your agency over to Satan through possession of your body?" Once again the answer was last night. I told her that she needed to stop it immediately. I told her that if she didn’t then it would harm her and her family. She said that it already had begun. It was all so creepy I could go on but you get the picture. I told her we can’t cast evil spirits out of her until she makes the choice to give it up cuz it would do no good for us to use the priesthood if she chose to ignore it. After the teach I gave Pres. Shamo a call and he said we did the right thing and he wanted us to talk to the Stake President. about it. Hopefully it will all get sorted. That stuff makes me feel sick. It is just scary how Satan gets people caught in those traps no matter if they think they are in control they find out that they really aren’t.
Some exciting news next Saturday Elder Bednar is coming to our mission. Isn’t that great!!!!
Young, since it is time to predict which mission you will go to I predict ENGLAND LONDON SOUTH MISSION!!!! If God loves you he will send you there I will quote President Packer, "God sends boys on missions to turn them into men, he sends men on missions to England to make them into leaders!" That is my humble quote of the day!
